I've got stuck into the " meet new people via friends" but honestly, there's only a certain amount of people ( in this case women) whom you'll actually meet and like. My friend has a lot of charm, he has this confidence to just go and chat to women, make them laugh etc. I needed some of that 'mojo'. I went and as nerve racking as it was, I learnt a lot.
1) Chatting to strangers isn't too difficult
2) Sustaining conversation IS difficult, especially when the other person isn't receptive.
3) It's good to try and be silly and find something to make a joke about
So after an eventful evening, I came out feeling better and my confidence topped up.
EDIT: A few days later I entered my scores into the speed dating database, and 11 out of 16 girls gave me a positive response to either date or be my friend. I must be doing something right, maybe I'm not so bad after all.
